The affidavit also reveals that Vijayan is currently facing five pending legal cases, including the long-standing SNC-Lavalin case and a recent Enforcement Directorate notice linked to a case involving his daughter. However, the document specifies that he has not been convicted in any of these cases.
The affidavit provides a detailed snapshot of Vijayan’s financial position and legal disclosures as he enters a crucial electoral contest.
Vijayan was among the first prominent candidates in Kerala to file nomination papers after the election notification was issued on March 16. He filed his nomination from Dharmadam on March 19.
Following the filing, he held a roadshow and attended an election convention in Dharmadam before continuing party engagements in Malappuram. With a public holiday declared for Eid, no campaign programmes have been scheduled for that day. Vijayan is expected to remain in Dharmadam until March 22, after which his statewide campaign tour will begin, with an extensive tour planned from March 26.
In the final phase of campaigning, he will focus on Dharmadam, where he is seeking a third consecutive term.
The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has fielded V P Abdul Rasheed as its candidate from the constituency, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated K Ranjith. CPI leader C N Chandran is coordinating election activities for Vijayan in the constituency.
