In a fiery address to a public rally in Belagavi, Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of being disconnected from national interests and focused solely on furthering the welfare of its own family members.

Modi said that the Congress party's disconnect had reached such an extent that it was unable to appreciate or acknowledge the achievements of the nation.

"When India emerges and strengthens, everyone feels proud. But Congress has grown so far from national interest, so engrossed in the welfare of their family that it does not like the country's achievements," remarked the Prime Minister.

During his speech, PM Modi highlighted the Congress party's criticism of the COVID-19 vaccines disseminated during the pandemic.

He accused the opposition of labeling the vaccines as "Bajpa vaccine," insinuating that the Congress party was attempting to politicize and undermine the efforts to combat the pandemic.

"The Congress claimed the vaccine to be 'Bajpa vaccine.' Congress is ashamed of every success of India," Modi said.

He also said that the opposition's actions were detrimental to the nation's progress and misrepresented the government's efforts to safeguard public health.

Modi also alleged that "Congress misleaded the people of the nation through criticizing the vaccines and now, two days before the second phase of elections, tried to directly sabotage democracy".

He put up that the Supreme Court had responded with a "hard slap" to the opposition's actions which remains unsubstantiated at the time of reporting.
