In a desperate bid to regain the trust of tribal population and people belonging to backward castes in the State Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today promised Sarna Religion Code for tribals and caste census if his party comes to power in the country after the 2024 polls. Addressing people at Shaheed Maidan in Ranchi on Monday Rahul promised Sarna Religious Code for tribals and Caste Census for people of the State.
Congratulating the alliance of Champai Soren they stopped the “conspiracy of BJP-RSS and maintained and protected the government of the poor” Rahul said that this time they have included the word “Nyaya” in his yatra. “This word is being understood very well in the country today.
People of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) know this word very well. Injustice is being done to them. This is a public sector and it is slowly being strangled. Because the government and BJP want that HEC should not work and in the coming days the nameplate of Adani should be put on it,” he said.
“Wherever I go, I see people saying that such public sector units are being abolished because the Modi government wants to end everything and name Adani. They want to make those who work here and have worked for years unemployed. Congress will not let this happen. I tell BJP to do whatever has to be done, we will not allow Adani's name to be mentioned. If our government is formed, you will get the support you need,” he added.
“What is the population of the tribal OBC category in this country? There are at least 50 per cent OBCs in the country. Today Telangana CM came and told us that today we have fulfilled the promise we had made. That promise is the promise of a caste-based census. In Telangana, everyone will know who has how much their population is. The people of HEC are being harassed, they are backward, Dalit, and tribal. That is why they are being removed and privatized. The purpose of this is to make tribals, OBC Dalits unemployed,” said Rahul.
“A hungry tribal was pushing 200 kg of coal on a bicycle. I saw with my own eyes. Our first step will be to conduct a caste census in the entire country. We will get the data. There will be no reduction in reservation for Dalit tribals. I guarantee it,” said the Congress leader.
Rahul Gandhi further said that there is severe unemployment in the country. Small-scale industries were destroyed. The PM lied about black money and demonetized it. The youth of the country cannot get employment. After demonetization and GST, there are no small industries left. Unless this government changes, the youth will not get employment.
The PM used to say that I am OBC. I demanded a caste census. When the time for social justice came, everyone forgot it. Injustice is happening in the country. He promised the tribals that the Sarna code would have to be given to them. “Why should your government be removed here, because they are not able to accept that there is a tribal government in Jharkhand. They are attacking democracy and the Constitution. India will never let the voice of democracy be suppressed,” he added.
Earlier, after reaching Ranchi, Rahul Gandhi went to meet former Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren. The picture of their meeting was shared on the social media handle of Congress with the caption “Today we will all unite and continue the fight for justice and raise the voice of the people. Hatred will lose, INDIA will win.”
