Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is about to get a new residence as the House Committee has offered him Bungalow No 5, Sunehri Bagh Road, as per sources.
The news about his upcoming residence gained attention following a visit by his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to Bungalow No 5, Sunehri Bagh Road.
According to parliamentary sources, Gandhi has been extended the offer for the bungalow, and they are currently awaiting his response.
Since Gandhi became an MP, his residence has been at 12 Tughlaq Lane. However, he vacated that house after he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha last year following his conviction in a defamation case.
Gandhi then moved into his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath and has been living there even after his disqualification was revoked.
Gandhi became the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, so he is entitled to a Type 8 bungalow as a Cabinet minister.
