Pankaj Advani wins 28th world billiard title, by defeating England’s Robert Hall 4-2 at the IBSF World Billiards Championship, held in Doha on Saturday.

Advani first won in 2016, and also maintained his winning streak in the years bound by Covid-19 (2020, 2021).

The match started with Hall leading in the beginning, but the Indian managed to create magic with his 150 score.

Advani, then, stunned Hall with his unfinished 147 break in the second frame.

The game jumped to the third frame, which made it all interesting, bringing brilliance from all the finalists.

Hall kept on fighting and refused to bow out without giving a tough fight. He managed to score 150 points in the fourth game to keep the game alive.

Jumping to the fifth frame, he delivered another astonishing 154 points to bring the game on equaliser.

However, Advani turned tables in the sixth frame with a crucial century break. And, after a one-on-one fight the Indian maestro crossed the finish line.

“It feels amazing to be on a winning streak of world billiards titles. It wasn’t easy though. The competition was tough.

“When I was not in full flow, it was my brother Shree, a sports psychologist, who came to the rescue. He helped me stay in the present and kept the scoreboard ticking. This win is for my country and family,” said Advani.

Score (Final): Pankaj Advani (India) beat Robert Hall (England): 151(71)-94(87), 151(147)-0, 150-84, 74(74)-151(151), 6-154(154), 152(105)-46.
