Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma and their children, recently visited the famous priest Premanand Maharaj at his ashram in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
Kohli is facing a tough phase in his cricket career after scoring poorly in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Tests against Australia. In the five-match series, which India lost 1-3, Kohli managed only 190 runs in nine innings, despite scoring a century in the first match.
Many former cricketers and fans criticised Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma for their poor performances, with some even calling for their retirement.
With the Australian Tests behind them, the Indian team is preparing for the upcoming white-ball series against England. Kohli took some time off to relax and visit Premanand Maharaj's ashram with his family.
Virat and Anushka are both devoted followers of Lord Krishna and have often been seen attending prayers and events related to the Hindu God.
A viral video showed the couple seeking blessings from Premanand Maharaj, along with their children Vamika and Akaay.
During the meeting, Anushka shared, "The last time we came, I had some questions in my heart. I wanted to ask them but someone else asked them instead. When I thought of coming here, I spoke to you in my mind. The next day, I would open ‘Kanti Vartalap' and someone would have asked those same questions. Now, I just seek your blessings."

Maharaj, moved by their devotion, praised the couple and said, "It is rare for someone to remain devoted to God after achieving such fame. Anushka's devotion will surely influence Kohli as well."
India's series against England will begin on January 22 with a T20I match in Kolkata. Kohli, along with Rohit and Ravindra Jadeja, announced their retirement from T20Is after India's victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
After the England series, India will play in the highly-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025, starting with a match against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai.
