Australia A triumphed over India A by 45 runs in the one-off unofficial women’s Test, all credit to incisive bowling performances from Tess Flintoff (3/39) and Charli Knott (3/34), who each claimed three wickets on the final day.
India A, chasing a target of 289, were bowled out for 243 after adding just 94 runs to their overnight score of 149/6. Despite a valiant 61-run partnership between overnight batters Raghvi Bist (26) and Uma Chetry (47), Flintoff’s double strike in the same over—dismissing both Bist and Chetry—severely dented India's chances as they collapsed to 212/8.
Sayali Satghare offered some resistance with a 36-ball 21. Still, Australia A’s bowlers, particularly the spin trio of Knott, Grace Parsons (2/37), and Lilly Mills (1/25), had already put India A on the back foot on day 3 by reducing them to 149/6.
Earlier, Maddy Darke’s unbeaten 105 helped Australia A set a competitive target, supported by Emma de Broughe’s 58. Minnu Mani stood out for India A with the ball, taking 6/92 in Australia A's second innings.
Brief Scores:
