Australia Women defeated India Women by 10 wickets in the one‑off women’s day‑night Test at the WACA Ground, bowling out India for 149 in the second innings and comfortably chasing a target of 25 on the final day of the three‑day match on Sunday.

The comprehensive victory underscored Australia’s control throughout the contest and provided a fitting end to captain Alyssa Healy’s illustrious international career, even though she did not bat in her final match.

India, set a modest target after being dismissed early on the third morning, resumed their second innings at 105 for 6. Former overnight batters Pratika Rawal and Sneh Rana added some resistance, taking the score to 132 before quick breakthroughs by Australia turned the tide.

Rawal showed resilience and temperament to finish with 63 runs, but once Rana fell to Ashleigh Gardner, who bowled her with a good delivery that uprooted the off‑stump, India’s tail collapsed. Gulps of spin from Annabel Sutherland and Gardner hastened the end of India’s innings.

Sutherland, a key figure throughout the match, also took a tumbling catch at the edge of the circle to dismiss Rawal, signalling the close of India’s second effort.

Australia’s openers Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield needed fewer than five overs to secure the victory, finishing unbeaten on 16 and 11 respectively as their side reached the target without loss.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur reflected on the match after play: “We started well in T20Is with a series win, but could not continue the good work in ODIs and Tests but playing a full series in Australia was a good experience. The Pink Ball Test was a different challenge.”

Healy, bidding farewell to her international Test career, said: “Bouncing back from the T20 series defeat was unbelievable and proud of the bunch. I am going to sing that team song one last time, but happy to see this team going forward and get some good results. The last week or so has been amazing.”

The match also highlighted strong all‑round performances earlier in the Test, including a commanding century by Sutherland and a significant contribution from veteran Ellyse Perry, as Australia built a decisive first‑innings lead.

India’s tour of Australia, including the Test and shorter formats, reflects the growing profile of women’s international cricket in both countries and provides important experience for touring sides in varied conditions.
