The Austrian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula One calendar until 2041 following a long-term contract extension announced on Sunday for the race held at the Red Bull Ring.

The event already had a deal in place running through 2030, signed two years ago.
The new agreement adds 11 more years to that deal, making Austria — alongside Miami — one of the only Grand Prix hosts with a confirmed contract stretching into the 2040s.

The Austrian Grand Prix has strong ties with Red Bull, whose involvement in Formula One has been pivotal to the race's presence.
Former Red Bull co-founder, Dietrich Mateschitz, played a vital role in bringing the event back to the F1 calendar in 2014 after an 11-year hiatus. He spearheaded the renovation of the circuit, rebranding it as the Red Bull Ring.

“I am delighted that Formula One will remain at the Red Bull Ring for many years to come,” said Mark Mateschitz, son of the late Dietrich, in a statement on Sunday.

“I am proud to continue my father’s legacy and to preserve the rich history of motor racing in Styria and at the Red Bull Ring — with and, above all, for the people of the region. Austria’s close ties to Formula One are an excellent foundation for our long-term partnership.
Working together, we intend to continue this success story for many years to come.”

The decision reflects a broader trend within Formula One, with the sport locking in long-term deals for key circuits as part of its global growth strategy.
The Canadian Grand Prix recently extended its contract till 2035, and Miami secured its own long-term agreement running until 2041.

Other circuits with long-standing agreements include Bahrain, which extended its contract in 2022 to remain on the calendar through 2036, and the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, which has a deal in place until 2037.

The Red Bull Ring is located in the picturesque Styrian hills, has now become a fans'-favourite venue and a significant fixture in the Formula One season. The extension ensures the Austrian Grand Prix will remain part of the championship for at least another 17 years.
