Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat struck double gold while compatriot Sukant Kadam returned with a gold and silver as India reigned supreme at the Australian Para Badminton International 2025, finishing atop the medals tally with a commanding all-round display.
Bhagat clinched the men’s singles SL3 title after overcoming fellow Indian Manoj Sarkar 21–15, 21–17 in the final before teaming up with Kadam to secure the men’s doubles SL3–SL4 crown. The pair defeated the Indian duo of Umesh Vikram Kumar and Surya Kant Yadav 21–11, 19–21, 21–18 in a gripping finale.
"I'm really happy to win two gold medals here in Australia. The match against Manoj was tough, we know each other's game so well, and it’s always a challenge when we face off," Bhagat said after his victory.
Kadam, who settled for silver in men’s singles SL4 following a narrow 21–23, 21–14, 19–21 defeat to Surya Kant, lauded India’s overall showing, calling it a “testament to the nation’s growing strength in para-badminton.”
