China has once again asserted its dominance in the world of table tennis, securing five titles at the WTT Singapore Smash.
The Chinese paddlers showcased their prowess in both men's and women's doubles finals and will also be competing in the men’s and women’s singles title matches, ensuring an all-China showdown in the finals.
In their first WTT event as a duo, Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong displayed remarkable chemistry, overpowering the Chinese Taipei pair Lin Yun-ju and Kao Cheng-jui in straight games.
The match ended with a commanding score of 11-2, 11-4, 13-11, proving the Chinese pair’s superiority on the court.
Lin Shidong continued his impressive run by securing a spot in the men's singles final. He breezed past French paddler Alexis Lebrun in straight games, controlling the match with precision.
Lin admitted that the final score exceeded his expectations, praising his opponent’s strong strokes and tricky serves. However, his ability to adapt and stay focused helped him clinch the win.
Meanwhile, another Chinese contender, Liang Jingkun, battled top-seeded Wang Chuqin in a thrilling seven-game contest. The match went down to the wire, with Liang securing victory in the deciding game at 12-10.
Reflecting on the hard-fought win, Liang credited his success to his rally play and strategic stroke execution. He now looks forward to the final, aiming to go a step further than last year, where he finished as runner-up.
In the women’s singles semifinals, Kuai Man continued her exceptional form in the tournament. After celebrating her 21st birthday with a mixed doubles title alongside Lin Shidong, she delivered another strong performance to defeat teammate Chen Xingtong 4-2.
The other semifinal featured an intense battle between world No. 1 Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi. Sun emerged victorious in a tightly contested match, securing the win with a 12-10 scoreline in the deciding game.
China’s dominance extended to the women’s doubles final, where Wang Manyu and Kuai Man clinched the title after an intense five-game duel against Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi.
This victory marked Kuai Man’s second title at the Singapore Smash, solidifying her position as one of the standout players of the tournament.
