Chennai Super Kings thrash Mumbai Indians by 103 runs as Sanju Samson smashes unbeaten 101 in IPL 2026 clash.


Chennai Super Kings (CSK) crushed Mumbai Indians (MI) by 103 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
 
Batting first, CSK posted 207/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten century from Sanju Samson. In reply, Mumbai’s entire batting line-up collapsed under pressure as the home side managed just 104 all out in 19 overs.
 
Sanju Samson starred with 101 not out off 54 balls. The other notable contributions for CSK came from Ruturaj Gaikwad (22 off 14) and Dewald Brevis (21 off 11).
 
Mumbai’s bowlers struggled to contain Samson, though Allah Ghazanfar picked up 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs, Ashwani Kumar took 2 for 37 in 4 overs, and Jasprit Bumrah claimed 1 for 31 in 4 overs.
 
For Mumbai, only Tilak Varma (37) and Suryakumar Yadav (36) managed 30-plus scores in the chase. West Indies left-arm spinner AkealHosein was the pick of the CSK bowlers with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs.
 
Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad took 2 for 24 in 4 overs, while Anshul Kamboj (1 for 10 in 3 overs) and Mukesh Choudhary (1 for 31 in 4 overs) also chipped in.
