Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 3 wickets with six balls to spare in a high-scoring IPL thriller on Monday night.
Batting first, Punjab Kings put on a massive 210 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Priyansh Arya set the tone with his blistering hitting in the power play, once again proving why he is known for being the most destructive batsman in the power play.
From the very first ball, he took the attack to the opposition, putting DC bowlers under immense pressure.
Punjab scored 50 in just 2.4 overs of the power play courtesy of the quick outfield and Dharamsala's thin air, where even mishits sailed over the boundary.
Priyansh scored his half century in just 24 deliveries, leading the charge as Punjab scored 72 in 6 overs without losing any wickets.
Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals found themselves in deep trouble at 74 for 4. However, Miller (51 off 28) and Axar (56 off 30) brought life back into the game with their counterattacking 64-run stand off 34 balls.
Delhi batters, while struggling, managed to pull off one of the biggest victories in this year’s IPL season.
Brief Scores:
Punjab Kings: 210 for 5 in 20 overs
