England's seasoned spinner, Jack Leach, is expected to sit out the second Test against India due to a left knee injury sustained in the series-opener in Hyderabad.

Leach, who didn't participate in the team's recent training session, received treatment for the injury from the physio.

Despite displaying resilience by playing through the pain in the Hyderabad Test, where England secured a 28-run victory, Leach's left knee issue has raised concerns.

Opener Zak Crawley, while acknowledging Leach's toughness, stated uncertainty about his availability for the upcoming Test.

Leach's absence opens the door for off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who joined the team late due to visa issues, to potentially make his Test debut.

Crawley expressed confidence in Bashir's abilities, describing him as a determined bowler with the potential to perform well if given the opportunity in the series.

The second Test between England and India is set to commence on Friday, with Leach's fitness being closely monitored in the lead-up to the match.
