Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets to set up an epic final showdown with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 season. GT crushed RR in a high-scoring second qualifier at the PCA Stadium in Mullanpur.
The final will be played on Sunday to decide the champions of the 2026 IPL season.
Batting first, RR posted a massive 214 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of a brilliant 93-run knock by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Dasun Shanaka was sent back for 3 runs by Jason Holder before Prasidh Krishna dismissed Jofra Archer, who was sent up the order, for 7 off 4 balls.
After Mohammed Siraj dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kagiso Rabada knocked over Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi started rebuilding the innings.
Jadeja retired hurt for 34 off 19 balls after feeling discomfort, which forced Riyan Parag to come out to bat in his place.
Jadeja later returned to the crease to hold anchor with Sooryavanshi, who was dropped on 46 by Sai Sudharsan and went on to bring up yet another half-century.
The left-handed duo added a further 52 runs before the youngster was removed for 96 off 47 deliveries by Rabada.
Donovan Ferreira’s blazing 38 off 11 balls cameo and Jadeja’s unbeaten 45 off 35 powered RR to 214/8 in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, GT captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a brilliant 104-run knock, while Sai Sudharsan’s half-century helped GT chase down 215 with 8 balls to spare.
The final will be played on Sunday between GT and RCB, where the winner will be crowned the 2026 IPL champions.
