RJD leader and son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav made waves on social media with his unexpected revelation about his cricketing past.

In an interview, Yadav claimed that Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli once played under his captaincy during domestic cricket.

Yadav expressed disappointment that his cricketing career, which he believes was noteworthy, has largely been overlooked. “I was a cricketer and no one talks about it.

Virat Kohli played under my captaincy – did anyone ever talk about it?” Yadav questioned. He further mentioned that many current Indian cricket team members were his batchmates.

However, Tejashwi’s cricket journey was cut short due to injuries.

He explained, “I had to quit because both my ligaments were fractured. Let it be.” His statement has since gone viral, drawing a range of reactions from cricket enthusiasts across social media platforms.

Tejashwi Yadav's professional cricket career includes playing one First-Class match, two List A games, and four T20 matches, all while representing Jharkhand.

His First-Class debut came against Vidarbha in November 2009. In List A cricket, Yadav played against Tripura and Orissa in February 2010.

He featured in four T20 matches, with appearances against teams from Orissa, Assam, Bengal, and Tripura, all held in Dhanbad.

Additionally, Yadav was part of the Delhi Daredevils squad (now Delhi Capitals) in the Indian Premier League from 2008 to 2012.

Despite being contracted by the franchise, Yadav never played a game during his tenure with the team.
