ICC reveals action-packed schedule for T20 WC 2024

The stage is set for another enthralling edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with a historic opening clash between debutants USA and Canada kicking off the tournament on June 2nd in Texas.

Co-hosted by the West Indies, the full schedule released today promises a month of high-octane cricket culminating in the final on June 29th.

Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will begin their quest for a second T20 World Cup title on June 5th against Ireland in New York. They will need to finish among the top two in their group stage to progress to the Super Eight stage.

Before the main event, warm-up matches are underway to fine-tune strategies and sharpen skills. India's sole warm-up encounter against Bangladesh on June 1 sets the stage for the intense battles to come.

The tournament unfolds as follows:

Group Stage (June 2nd-18th): 20 teams divided into four groups, with the top two from each progressing.
Super Eight Stage (June 19th-24th): The eight qualifiers will be placed in two groups, with the top two from each advancing to the semi-finals.
Semi-Finals (June 26th & 27th): Winners from each Super Eight group clash for a place in the final.
Final (June 29th): The ultimate showdown between the winning semi-finalists to decide the T20 World Cup champion.
