The Legends Tour is set to make its Indian debut with the India Legends Championship, scheduled from August 28 at the picturesque Jaypee Greens Golf Course.
The tournament, carrying a prize purse of USD 500,000, marks the first-ever Legends Tour event in the country and will be hosted by Indian golfing icon, Jeev Milkha Singh.
The Legends Tour, previously known as the European Senior Tour, is the official circuit for players aged 50 and above, operating under the PGA European Tour umbrella alongside the DP World Tour and European Challenge Tour.
This tour features a formidable lineup of seasoned golfers, including former Major Winners, World Number Ones, and Ryder Cup players and captains.
Jeev Milkha Singh, excited about hosting the event, highlighted its significance for Indian golf.
“It’s going to be a big boost to Indian golf. Hosting and playing in this event at Jaypee Greens is very special to me,” he said.
Singh pointed out the rapid growth of golf in India, citing the emergence of promising young players, a robust junior program, and a flourishing professional tour.
The tournament will feature a strong contingent of 10 Indian golfers, including the host Jeev Milkha Singh and fellow Legends Tour member Jyoti Randhawa.
