Daniil Medvedev defeated top seed Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 7-6 (3) to reach the final of the Indian Wells Open, handing the Spaniard his first loss of the season. The 11th-seeded Russian will now meet second seed Jannik Sinner of Italy, who secured his place in the final with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Alexander Zverev.
Alcaraz had entered the semifinal riding a 16-match winning streak in 2026, highlighted by titles at the Australian Open and the Qatar Open. However, Medvedev halted that run and prevented the anticipated Alcaraz-Sinner championship clash. The victory also carried extra significance for Medvedev, who had lost his previous four meetings with Alcaraz, including the final at Indian Wells in 2024. It marked Medvedev’s first win over the Spaniard since their semifinal encounter at the US Open in 2023.

Sinner, meanwhile, advanced comfortably against Zverev, wrapping up the match in just 1 hour and 23 minutes. The Italian struck six aces and took control after a steady start from Zverev, who won the first eight points on his serve. Sinner broke serve in the fifth and seventh games to capture the opening set and maintained his momentum in the second. With the victory, Sinner extended his lead over Zverev to 7–4 in their head-to-head series.
Neither Medvedev nor Sinner has dropped a set during this year’s Indian Wells tournament. Sinner also enters the final with recent success against the Russian, having won their last three meetings, including a quarterfinal clash at the 2024 edition of the US Open.
In the women’s doubles final, Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova defeated Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic 7-6 (4), 6-4. The win was Townsend’s first title at Indian Wells, while Siniakova claimed her second after previously winning in 2023 alongside longtime partner Barbora Krejcikova.
In the men’s doubles final, Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard overcame Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot 7-6 (3), 6-3. The mixed doubles title went to Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, who defeated top seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Lloyd Glasspool 6-3.
