The auction for the 2027 edition of the Indian Premier League will be conducted in Goa in December, Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Devajit Saikia announced on Wednesday, September 23.
Saikia said the BCCI had organised the IPL auction at international venues in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the previous three years. The board will bring the event back to India this year, with Goa selected as the venue for the December auction.
In another development, the multi-day match between India A Women and Australia A Women, scheduled from September 29 to October 2, has been moved from Dharamshala to Mohali. Persistent rainfall and unsuitable ground conditions in Dharamshala led to the change.
The match will now be played at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, which is also hosting the ongoing three-match One-Day series between the two teams.
The venue change follows India A Women’s four-wicket win in the opening One-Day match, where the team successfully chased a target of 236 runs.
Saikia said the decision was taken to prevent the weather from disrupting cricketing activity. He also referred to the shifting of the upcoming T20 matches from Dharamshala to Mohali, citing continued rainfall and conditions that were not suitable for cricket.
He said the relocation would allow the scheduled cricket activities to continue without interruption from the weather.
