Ravindra Jadeja has tightened his grip as the world’s No. 1 Test all-rounder, while young Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has surged to the top of the ICC T20I batting rankings, displacing Australia’s Travis Head.
As per the latest ICC Men's Player Rankings released on Wednesday, Jadeja stretched his lead at the top of the all-rounder charts to 422 rating points, a full 117 points ahead of Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who sits in second place.
"Jadeja has inflated his lead at the top of the rankings for all-rounders after grabbing four wickets and scoring a fighting 107 not out," the ICC said in a statement. "He has added 13 rating points and is now on an aggregate of 422... He has also moved up five places to 29th among batters and up one place to 14th among bowlers."
His teammate Washington Sundar also climbed the rankings after his maiden Test century and a 203-run partnership with Jadeja helped India secure a remarkable draw in the fourth Test at Manchester. Sundar moved up eight spots to reach 65th among batters and is now joint-13th in the all-rounders' list after also claiming two wickets in the match.
In the T20 format, Abhishek Sharma achieved a career-best ranking by climbing to No. 1 in the world with 829 points. The 24-year-old leapfrogged Travis Head, who now holds second place with 814 points after skipping Australia’s 5-0 T20I series victory over West Indies.

Travis Head had held the top spot for nearly a year since surpassing Suryakumar Yadav during the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. Abhishek’s rise comes after consistent showings against South Africa and England, which added to his early impression with a century on debut against Zimbabwe.
Josh Inglis of Australia also made major gains, breaking into the top 10 T20I batting rankings with 172 runs across five matches. Tim David moved up 12 spots to 18th, and Cameron Green surged 64 places to 24t, all three achieving career-best positions.
West Indies’ Brandon King also rose in the charts, climbing nine places to joint-21st.
In Test rankings, England’s Joe Root widened his lead over New Zealand’s Kane Williamson at the top of the batting charts after scoring 150 in Manchester. England captain Ben Stokes climbed to No. 3 among Test all-rounders — his best position since December 2022 — after a stellar all-round display including a five-wicket haul and 141 with the bat.
England’s Ben Duckett re-entered the top 10 Test batters, rising five spots to 10th. Zak Crawley climbed to 43rd, and Ollie Pope moved up to 24th. Among bowlers, Jofra Archer continued his resurgence with three wickets in Manchester, moving up 38 places to 63rd. Chris Woakes gained one spot to 23rd.
