Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a fluent unbeaten century and Rohit Sharma returned to form with a sparkling 79 as India thrashed Afghanistan by nine wickets in the third and final ODI to complete a 3-0 series sweep in Chennai on Saturday.
The commanding chase came after pacer Prasidh Krishna produced a career-best 5 for 23 to dismantle Afghanistan's top order and set up India's victory.
Chasing a modest target of 219, India barely broke a sweat, reaching 224 for one in just 28.4 overs. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 110, his second ODI hundred, while Rohit contributed a stylish 79 as the opening pair added 170 runs in 22.5 overs to all but seal the contest.
The innings was particularly significant for both batters. Rohit, facing growing competition for places in India's top order, rediscovered his rhythm with a range of authoritative strokes. Jaiswal, meanwhile, strengthened his credentials with a composed knock that blended aggression with maturity.
Rohit took on Afghanistan's premier spinner Rashid Khan, striking boundaries and sixes with ease, while Jaiswal was fluent from the outset. The left-hander raced to his fifty in just 38 balls and later brought up his century in 83 deliveries with a six off Mohammad Nabi.

Rohit fell short of a hundred when he miscued a pull shot off Nabi and was caught at deep mid-wicket, but by then the result was beyond doubt. Jaiswal fittingly sealed the win with another six.
Earlier, Afghanistan recovered from a disastrous start to post 218 all out, thanks largely to captain Hashmatullah Shahidi's maiden ODI century.
Asked to bat first, the visitors slumped to 36 for four as Prasidh exploited favourable conditions with a devastating opening spell. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah and Darwish Rasooli all fell cheaply as India tightened their grip.
Shahidi then staged a remarkable rescue effort. He shared a 105-run partnership with Azmatullah Omarzai, who scored 50, before adding another 57 runs with Nabi. Battling cramps and pressure, Shahidi reached his maiden ODI hundred in 128 balls and carried Afghanistan past the 200-run mark.
However, the total proved inadequate against India's rampant top order. Prasidh's incisive spell and Jaiswal's masterclass ensured the hosts completed a comprehensive clean sweep and ended the series on a commanding note.
