As the Indian cricket team prepares itself for the second Test against England in Vizag, all eyes are on the speculated absence of Virat Kohli. The 35-year-old, who pulled out of the first two matches due to 'personal reasons,' became the centre of speculations surrounding his mother's health on social media.

Contrary to the rumours, Kohli's brother Vikas took to Instagram, refuting the fake news and affirming their mother's well-being.

"Let me be clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. I would request everyone and also the media not to spread such news without proper information," Vikas mentioned in a post.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier released a statement, citing Kohli's personal reasons for his withdrawal from the initial Test matches.

The statement underlined Kohli's commitment to representing the country while emphasizing the need for his presence due to personal situations.

India faces the challenge of settling the score against England in the ongoing five-Test series, with the absence of key players like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. The selectors have brought in Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar for the second Test, aiming to bolster the team's performance.

While Kohli's personal reasons remain undisclosed, the Indian team, led by stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, remains focused on delivering commendable performances in the upcoming Tests. The BCCI has extended its support to Kohli's decision, expressing confidence in the remaining squad members to step up and meet the challenges of the series.
