Novak Djokovic reflected on what The Championships, Wimbledon has meant to his career and the legacy he has built at the tournament, while also expressing his admiration for Indian cricket great Virat Kohli and revealing his plans to visit India.
"I would love to play both cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future, and we have been in touch about it. I know Virat is a global star, but in India, he is on another level. I would love for him to host me and show me around. I have immense respect for him and for Indian cricket. Cricket isn't a major sport in Serbia, where I come from, but some members of my team are British and they absolutely love the game,” he said.
“Over the past 10 to 15 years, I've been learning more about cricket. I still need to improve my skills though. Maybe Virat can help me with my batting technique and swing. But in all seriousness, I have tremendous admiration for him, and I hope I get the opportunity to meet him in his home country," Djokovic added.

Speaking about Wimbledon, Djokovic described the tournament as the cornerstone of his career and the fulfilment of a childhood dream. "A large part of my legacy has been built on what I've achieved here at Wimbledon. I've spoken about it many times and have always been honest about it. This was the tournament I dreamed of winning when I was a child. I always wanted to succeed here, lift the Wimbledon trophy and become world number one. I was fortunate enough to realise that dream in 2011. Since then, winning this tournament seven times and reaching so many finals has been an extraordinary journey,” he shared.
“For some reason, I have consistently produced my best tennis on these grass courts, particularly on Centre Court. The energy, the tradition and the atmosphere always inspire me to raise my level. I never take these moments for granted. To still have the chance to write my own history and contribute to the history of the sport, while continuing to compete at this level and reach another quarter-final, means a great deal to me. Hopefully, I can take a few more steps forward this year," Djokovic said.
