The Pro Kabaddi League witnessed an intense clash as Patna Pirates and Gujarat Giants played out a nail-biting 40-40 draw in their Season 11 encounter at the Badminton Hall of the Balewadi Sports Complex.

 

The match showcased a thrilling display of skill and determination, with both teams fighting until the final whistle.

 

Gujarat Giants started the match on a strong note, dominating the early exchanges. A three-point raid by Guman Singh and an early All Out gave them a six-point lead within the first half.

 

The Patna Pirates, however, gradually found their rhythm, with Devank and Sudhakar M. making significant contributions. By halftime, Gujarat Giants maintained a narrow 22-18 advantage.

 

The second half saw a spirited comeback from the Pirates. Led by Devank, who achieved a well-deserved Super 10, the Pirates closed the gap.

 

Their defence also stepped up, landing an All Out to bring the deficit down to just two points. As the match progressed, both teams traded points in a closely contested battle.

 

With under ten minutes left, the Pirates levelled the scores, thanks to crucial efforts from Ayan and Sudhakar. However, the Giants fought back with Super Tackles that regained their lead.

 

In a dramatic final few minutes, Ayan inflicted an All Out on the Giants, bringing the Pirates within a point of their opponents. The match ended with Devank securing his Super 10, ensuring the spoils were shared in an electrifying encounter.

Delhi Dabang Edge Past Jaipur Pink Panthers in a Tight Contest

In another thrilling PKL match, Dabang Delhi K.C. edged out Jaipur Pink Panthers 33-31 in a clash between two top teams. Ashu Malik delivered a stellar performance, achieving his 17th Super 10 of the season and leading Delhi to a crucial victory.

The match began on an even footing, with both teams exchanging points regularly. Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar displayed their trademark attacking prowess, while Jaipur's Arjun Deshwal kept his team in the hunt with skillful raids. The turning point came in the sixth minute when Ashu Malik inflicted the first All Out, giving Delhi a much-needed edge.

Delhi continued to dominate as the first half progressed. Ashu Malik’s efficient raiding, complemented by strong defensive efforts, ensured Delhi maintained their lead. Naveen Kumar also contributed with crucial touches, keeping the Jaipur defenders under constant pressure.

The second half, however, brought a resurgence from Jaipur Pink Panthers. Arjun Deshwal led the fightback with a series of successful raids, inflicting an All Out on Delhi and levelling the scores with just five minutes remaining.

 

In the final moments, Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar stepped up for Delhi, with decisive touches and tackles that secured a narrow two-point lead. Despite Jaipur's best efforts, including a dramatic last-minute raid by Deshwal that fell short, Delhi held on to their advantage to clinch the win.

 

The victory placed Delhi firmly in the PKL history books, extending their unbeaten streak to 14 matches, matching the record set by Puneri Paltans across Seasons 10 and 11. The match also ended Jaipur’s 13-match unbeaten run in a single season, further highlighting Delhi's remarkable form this year.

 

Both matches served as a testament to the high-octane drama and skill on display in the Pro Kabaddi League, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next round of action.
