Ravindra Jadeja, the versatile all-rounder, achieved a remarkable milestone on Thursday, becoming the fifth Indian cricketer to claim 600 international wickets across all formats.
This accomplishment came during the first ODI against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. Jadeja’s impressive career continued to shine as he reached this landmark with his third wicket of the match, finishing with impressive bowling figures of 3-26 in his nine overs.
Jadeja's exceptional performance helped India dismiss England for 248 runs in 47.4 overs. His entry into the elite club of Indian bowlers with 600 international wickets is a testament to his sustained brilliance on the field.
Jadeja now joins the esteemed ranks of other legendary Indian bowlers: Anil Kumble (953 wickets), Ravichandran Ashwin (765 wickets), Harbhajan Singh (707 wickets), and Kapil Dev (687 wickets).

The all-rounder’s impact on the game was felt immediately after his introduction in the 15th over, where he managed to extract sharp turn from the pitch. Though Axar Patel had bowled before him, it was Jadeja’s experience and skill that proved crucial in the battle between the two left-arm spinners.
Jadeja’s first breakthrough came when he dismissed England's Joe Root with a quicker delivery, trapping him lbw. He followed this up with a key wicket of Jacob Bethell, who had been playing a solid knock of 51 runs, by dismissing him in a similar manner.
Jadeja then wrapped up his spell by cleaning up Adil Rashid, completing a brilliant spell and cementing his place among the greats of Indian cricket.
Since making his international debut in 2009, Jadeja has been a key player for India across all three formats, excelling in every aspect of the game.
Known for his consistency as a bowler, batter, and fielder, Jadeja has been an indispensable part of the Indian team. His ability to perform under pressure has earned him the reputation of being a true match-winner.
His statistics across all formats further reinforce his remarkable career. In Test cricket, Jadeja has claimed 323 wickets and scored 3,370 runs, showcasing his all-round capabilities. In ODIs, he has taken 223 wickets in 198 matches, including two five-wicket hauls.
Jadeja also retired from T20Is after helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup, a crowning achievement in his career.
With over 200 wickets in ODIs, Jadeja joins a select group of Indian bowlers who have achieved this feat, alongside the likes of Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, and Harbhajan Singh.
