Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has offered a frank and realistic perspective on his future at the club, admitting that his tenure will inevitably come to an end at some point.

While the Italian tactician remains committed to the team, he acknowledges that the ultimate decision about his stay rests with club president Florentino Pérez.

Real Madrid’s season has been marked by inconsistency, contrasting sharply with their dominant performances from the previous year. While they remain contenders in multiple competitions, their struggles in crucial matches have raised concerns.

The team has lost ground in La Liga, trailing behind Barcelona, who hold an advantage with a superior goal difference and a game in hand. As the season reaches a decisive phase, pressure is mounting on Ancelotti to deliver results.

With speculation growing about Xabi Alonso as a potential successor, Ancelotti addressed the uncertainty surrounding his tenure. In a conversation on PoretCast di Giacomo Poretti, he acknowledged that his future is not in his hands.

"I don't know when. I don't decide. The only clear thing I know is that I don't decide when I will leave, the president will. It will happen sooner or later," he said.

In January, Ancelotti dismissed rumors that he had already decided to leave at the end of the season. Instead, he pointed to Florentino Pérez’s re-election as a sign of stability.

"I want to be very clear: the departure date of this club is never going to be decided by me in my life. I have the advantage that Florentino will stay for four more years, and I have the objective of reaching them with him. We can say goodbye together," he stated.

Ancelotti extended his contract in late 2023, securing his position at the club until 2026. His second stint with Real Madrid, which began in 2021, has been marked by significant success, including two Champions League titles, two La Liga trophies, and a long-awaited Copa del Rey victory in 2023.
