Yuvraj Sandhu produced a blistering eight-under 64 to seize a commanding three-shot lead after the second round of the TATA Open, the PGTI season finale, on Friday.
Sandhu, who carded 67-64 over the first two rounds, moved to the top of the leaderboard at 11-under 131 at the halfway stage, climbing seven places from his overnight tied eighth position. Playing at the Beldih Golf Club, the six-time PGTI winner this season delivered one of the standout rounds of the tournament.
Having already clinched the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit, Sandhu has secured a berth on next year’s DP World Tour and is now chasing a record seventh title on the domestic circuit.
The 27-year-old began steadily, picking up three successive birdies on the front nine. A solitary bogey on the 10th briefly halted his momentum before he staged a remarkable recovery, reeling off six consecutive birdies from the 11th to the 16th to stamp his authority on the field.
His back-nine effort featured a blend of precision and composure, highlighted by two excellent up-and-downs, a pair of conversions from 12 to 15 feet, and two birdies from close range.

“I was feeling the effects of playing back-to-back weeks till the first round on Thursday. There was exhaustion. But today my body felt much better, I was more in control of things and able to swing freely. As a result, my ball-striking was also significantly better,” Sandhu said.
Trailing him in second place is 21-year-old Shubham Jaglan, who struck a four-under 66 at Golmuri Golf Club to total eight-under 134. Jaglan, playing only his third event on the PGTI, moved up four spots with a composed round.
The halfway cut was declared at two-over 144, with 53 professionals progressing to the weekend rounds.
The tournament has been played across two venues, with the field split between Beldih and Golmuri over the opening two rounds. In the final two rounds, the leading groups will tee off at Golmuri before finishing at Beldih.
