Shardul Thakur, the versatile all-rounder of This marks his second foot surgery, the first having occurred five years ago in 2019., has successfully undergone foot surgery in London.

The 32-year-old cricketer shared a post-surgery photograph on his Instagram page with the caption: "Operated successfully."

This marks his second foot surgery, the first having occurred five years ago in 2019.

The injury, which resurfaced during the South Africa tour earlier this year, had plagued Thakur for months.

Despite this setback, he made a commendable return in the Ranji Trophy, contributing significantly to Mumbai's 42nd title victory. However, he had requested the BCCI for longer intervals between matches to allow adequate recovery time for players.

In the recent Indian Premier League season, Thakur represented Chennai Super Kings, taking five wickets in nine matches at an economy rate of 9.75. As a Grade C contract holder with the BCCI, the expenses for his treatment were covered by the board.

Sources indicate that Thakur is expected to be out of competitive cricket for at least three months. Although no official timeline has been provided, it is anticipated that he may return to training in time for the upcoming domestic season.

This period of recovery is crucial for Thakur, whose presence in the team has been marked by his resilient performances and vital contributions in both domestic and international cricket. Fans and teammates alike await his return with eager anticipation, hopeful that he will once again bring his dynamic skills to the field.
