Sky matches Kohli's Player of the Match titles in half the match-time.


Suryakumar Yadav, in his first win after becoming the captain, gained his 16th Player of the Match title, equivalent to Virat Kohli’s world record of this title, in half the match-time.

 

India won by 43 runs against Sri Lanka yesterday in the first match of the T20I series, having the novel captain Suryakumar Yadav, aka Sky, grabbing the title of Player of the match in his 69th match.

 

Whereas, star batter Virat Kohli clinched his 16th title at the World Cup winning match last month, which was his 125th match.

From the host, Mathisha Pathirana took four wickets in four overs however, the highest scorer was Pathum Nissanak, who made 79 runs off 48 balls with seven fours and four sixes. 

The host nation routed by scoring 170 runs in 19.2 overs, having the men in blue lead with 1-0.
