After the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in a draw at the Gabba, both the Indian and Australian teams travelled to Melbourne for the fourth Test.
Upon their arrival at Melbourne Airport, a video of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli confronting a journalist went viral. The incident occurred ahead of the Boxing Day Test.
Kohli appeared upset as cameras were directed at his family, leading to a heated exchange. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, reporters were initially interviewing Australian pacer Scott Boland when Kohli and his family were spotted nearby.
The cameras shifted focus to Kohli, which seemed to irritate him, prompting him to confront a reporter.
A Channel 7 journalist explained the situation, stating, "Kohli became upset when he thought the media was filming him with his children. It was largely a misunderstanding."
Kohli was heard saying, "With my kids, I need some privacy. You can't film without asking me," as quoted by 7News. After the misunderstanding was clarified and it was explained that his children were not being filmed, Kohli shook hands with the cameraperson and left the scene.
On the cricket front, Kohli started the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a century in Perth but has struggled in recent matches, scoring only 21 runs in his last three innings.
