Jammu and Kashmir recorded more than 1.77 crore tourist arrivals in 2025, the government said in response to a query raised by MLA Hasnain Masoodi in the Assembly.
Besides over 36,000 foreign tourists, the government informed the Legislative Assembly that a total of 17,765,390 tourists visited the Union Territory between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Of these, 36,410 were international travellers, while 17,728,980 were domestic tourists.
The government said it had not set specific targets for tourist arrivals in 2026, but stressed that sustained promotional and developmental measures are underway to boost both domestic and foreign inflows.
The Jammu and Kashmir government also informed the Assembly about the resumption of night flights at Srinagar International Airport. It said the government was fully equipped to handle immigration, customs, security and passenger-handling facilities. However, the start of international operations depends on various factors.
The operations commenced on Saturday evening to improve air connectivity and passenger convenience.
It further informed the House about ongoing international flight operations, with direct flights from Srinagar to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia currently operational at the airport.
Meanwhile, further amenities and upgrades at Jammu airport are being developed at a cost of Rs 865 crore. These ongoing measures, according to the government, are aimed at strengthening civil aviation infrastructure and connectivity in the Union Territory.
