In a tragic event in Patiala, Punjab, a 10-year-old girl died after eating a cake ordered online for her birthday last week. Her name was Manvi.

In a video that many people saw on social media, Manvi is seen cutting the cake and celebrating with her family just hours before she passed away.

Her grandad explained what happened. The family ordered the cake at about 6 pm and celebrated her birthday at 7 pm on March 24. By 10 pm, everyone in the family got sick. The two younger daughters started vomiting. There were five people at home at the time.

Manvi felt very thirsty and had a dry mouth. Then, she went to sleep. Luckily, her youngest sister, Preman, survived after vomiting the cake.

As Manvi got worse, the family took her to the hospital the next morning. Doctors gave her oxygen and did a test called an ECG, but sadly, she didn't make it. She was declared dead soon after, her grandfather said.

The family thinks that the chocolate cake, ordered from ‘Cake Kanha’ bakery in Adalat Bazaar, Patiala, had something poisonous in it that caused her death, according to NDTV.

The police are now investigating the bakery owner. They did a postmortem on Manvi's body, and they also sent a piece of the cake for testing. They're waiting for the results.
