In a touching story of love for the country, 10-year-old Shravan Singh from Mamdot village in Ferozepur district has been honoured by the Indian Army as the ‘Youngest Civil Warrior’ during Operation Sindoor.
Shravan’s help and support to the soldiers stationed near his home during the operation caught the attention of army officials. Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 7 Infantry Division, gave Shravan a special award to recognise his hard work and dedication.
Even though Shravan is very young, he showed great commitment throughout the operation. He regularly brought cold water, milk, tea, lassi (a traditional yogurt drink), and even ice to the soldiers. His small acts of kindness made the soldiers feel cared for and helped lift their spirits during the tough times.
Shravan’s father, Sona Singh, said, “The soldiers were camped on our land. From the first day, my son started bringing milk, lassi, water, and ice for them. We never stopped him because he was happy to serve the Army. He kept visiting them every day, and that made us very proud. He now dreams of becoming a soldier when he grows up.”
Shravan also shared his feelings about his experience with the Army. “I liked visiting the soldiers and giving them refreshments. I want to be a soldier and serve my country one day,” he said. “The soldiers gave me a special meal and even ice cream, which made me very happy.”
Shravan’s story is a wonderful example of how even young children can show patriotism and support for the nation. His kindness and dedication brought comfort and happiness to the soldiers who were working hard to protect the country.
The Indian Army’s recognition of Shravan as the youngest civil warrior highlights the importance of community support during challenging times. It also shows how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
This inspiring story from Mamdot village will surely encourage others to appreciate and support the brave men and women who serve the nation.
