The district health department expanded its primary healthcare network on Saturday with the inauguration of 14 new Aam Aadmi Clinics. Aimed at providing free and accessible medical services to local residents, the openings formed part of a broader statewide initiative led by Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh and senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders, who collectively dedicated 100 new clinics to the public.

 

Across the district, the new facilities were officially opened by local representatives, including MLAs Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Dr Ajay Gupta, Jeevan Jyot Kaur, and Dr Jasbir Singh Sandhu, along with Halqa in-charge Karamjit Singh Rintu.

 

The most recent facilities that have been installed in the network are located at various places such as Arya Samaj Mandir, Central Jail, Kangra Colony, Labour Colony (Khandwala), Baba Deep Singh Colony (Nangli), Mule Chak near Arya Samaj School, New Amritsar, Sant Channan Singh Colony, South City, Sri Guru Hargobind Stadium, Daburji Link Road, Ward No. 10 Ganda Singh Wala, and Ward No. 12 Tung Bala.

Welcoming the expansion, Civil Surgeon Dr Rashmi Vij noted that the Aam Aadmi Clinics continue to play a vital role in strengthening the state’s overall healthcare infrastructure.
