In what can be seen as a significant breakthrough for the police, two Pakistani nationals who escaped a juvenile home in Jammu have been apprehended from Punjab. They were arrested within 24 hours of their escape from the RS Pura Juvenile Home on Monday evening, after assaulting the cops on duty.

Officials confirmed that the Pakistani citizens were found in Ludhiana, Punjab. However, the local gangster who fled with them is still at large. Police are actively searching for him. The escape involved an attack on police personnel, resulting in injuries to them.

Karajeet Singh alias Gugga, a resident of Dablehar in RS Pura, and Pakistani citizens Mohammad Suna-ullah and Ahsan Anwar allegedly attacked police personnel and fled from the juvenile home at around 5 pm on Monday. Two cops were injured in the incident.

Officials said the Pakistani nationals were tracked to a village in Punjab’s Ludhiana by a police party and were subsequently arrested.

The inmates from Pakistan were identified as Ahsan Anwar, son of  Mohd. Anwar, resident of  Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan, and Mohd Sanaullah, son of  Mohd. Zaffer, resident of  Basti Jawewala, Tehsil Dinpur, District Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Pakistan. The third one Karanjit Singh, alias Gugga, is the son of Arjun Singh, resident of  Dablehar, RS Pura.

Official sources confirmed that both Pakistani inmates were shifted to the juvenile home after they were nabbed by the security forces while attempting to cross the International Border in 2018. They were lodged in the juvenile home as they were minors at that time. Interestingly, the duo continues to stay put in the juvenile home even after turning major.
