Security forces on Thursday foiled the infiltration bid of a group of terrorists near the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
Local media quoting reliable sources said the infiltration attempt was foiled in the Tangdhar area when Army personnel at the LoC spotted the men and confronted them early in the morning.
Sources said they believed two terrorists had been gunned down during operations.
Meanwhile, a search operation was continuing in the region to track infiltrators who could have escaped.
There were no immediate updates on the situation.
In a similar incident last month, one terrorist was killed as the Army prevented an attempted incursion along the LoC in Uri, Baramulla area.
This is a developing story. More details will follow.
