Twenty-five passengers were injured on Saturday when a private bus heading toward Kullu in Himachal Pradesh met with an accident near the Badiropa area, police officials confirmed. The incident occurred when the bus, which was carrying around 45 passengers from Bathad village in Kullu district, lost control and veered off the road.
According to police, the bus driver failed to manage a turn on the hilly terrain, resulting in the vehicle slipping off the route and causing injuries to several passengers.
Two individuals sustained multiple injuries and were immediately referred to the Regional Hospital in Kullu, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The remaining injured passengers received first aid and were discharged soon after.
Kullu Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan Gokulachandran stated that a case has been registered against the bus driver under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125A (rash or negligent act endangering human life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
