A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life in the intensive care unit of Kamala Raja Hospital, Gwalior, after a brutal assault allegedly perpetrated by a 17-year-old neighbour in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh.
The victim, discovered in a blood-soaked condition on Sunday, has sustained grievous injuries, including severe bite marks and extensive internal trauma.
Medical examiners at Kamala Raja Hospital, who performed emergency surgery, revealed the girl’s critical condition upon admission.
“When she was admitted, doctors were almost hopeless about her survival. However, they managed to stabilise her situation,” a hospital spokesperson stated.
The surgical team administered 28 stitches to the girl’s private parts and performed a colostomy to address the severe internal injuries.
Doctors told local media that “her private parts were extremely damaged and they had to perform a complex procedure to reconstruct the affected areas.”
The incident, which occurred on 22nd February, involved a 17-and-a-half-year-old boy, reportedly under the influence of alcohol. According to police reports, the accused lured the girl from the rooftop of her home to a nearby abandoned house.
There, he subjected her to a sexual assault, during which he repeatedly slammed her head against a wall.
