Three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Jalog, Shimla on Monday, as heavy rains continue to lash Himachal Pradesh. The Shimla Disaster Management Authority said the accident occurred about four km ahead of Jalog in Sub Tehsil Jalog.
Local officials, including the Patwari of Ogli Gram Panchayat and police personnel, rushed to the site as soon as the incident was reported. Further details are still awaited.
Meanwhile, in a separate weather-related incident, a cloudburst was reported last night in Sikaseri village, located in Sarpara Gram Panchayat, Rampur. The sudden deluge washed away a room, kitchen, warehouse, and cowshed belonging to Rajender Kumar, along with one cow and two calves. Another cow and shed each, owned by Vinod Kumar and Gopal Singh, were also swept away.
Fortunately, no human casualties were reported in the cloudburst.
