Three people were killed, and ten others were injured when a mini truck, carrying people to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh, collided with an SUV in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday, according to the police.
The collision happened around 1:30 am on the Satna-Chitrakoot state highway, about 45 km from the district headquarters. The mini truck overturned after the crash. The incident caused a traffic jam, which was later cleared by the police.
The victims were travelling in the mini truck, which was carrying people from Jabalpur in MP to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh for the ongoing Maha Kumbh. The occupants of the SUV were returning to Damoh after visiting Prayagraj via Chitrakoot.
The deceased have been identified as Mahendra Patel (52), Manisha Patel (31), and her son Jitendra Patel (11). Ten others, who were in both vehicles, were injured and are receiving treatment at the district hospital.
