Three residents of Punjab were killed, while three others suffered injuries after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Dalhousie area of Chamba district, police informed on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night on the Dalhousie-Karelnu road near Gandhi Chowk when the driver lost control of the vehicle, the police informed.
Two passengers died on the spot, while a young woman succumbed to her injuries while being taken to a hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Simranpreet Kaur (18), Surinder (25), and Sophia (19). All the victims, including the injured, were residents of Jalandhar in Punjab.
The injured, identified as Prince (21), Sumanpreet (19), and Balbir (20), were rescued by a police team with the help of locals and district administration officials.
All three injured were shifted to Civil Hospital in Dalhousie and were undergoing treatment, the police said.
