Food poisoning is suspected in thirty-five children, who fell sick in Jharkhand's Latehar district, an official said on Thursday. All of them ate chow mein from the same stall. The incident is reported in Temki village.
On Wednesday evening, a fair (mela) was organized on the occasion of a festival in the village, where the incident took place, officials said.
All of the children fall under the age group of two to 15 years were admitted to Sadar Hospital. As per Doctor Jaiprakash, the children were admitted with complaints of vomiting, abdominal pain, and dehydration.
"They were brought to the hospital by ambulance between 9.30 pm and 10 pm. It was a case of food poisoning. The condition of children is stable now," he cited.
The doctor said they would be discharged from the hospital soon, and the process has been initiated.
