Five members of a Guram village family in Ludhiana, Punjab, were killed in tragic Brampton house fire last week.
Grief has engulfed Guram village of Ludhiana district after learning about the death of five members of a joint family hailing from the village in a devastating house fire at their house in Brampton, Canada about a week ago.
Among the dead was the unborn child of Arashveer Kaur, who survived by jumping from the roof, but suffered serious injuries, causing a miscarriage.
Happy Shankar, a close relative of the family, said Arashveer’s husband Jugraj Singh managed to escape, but his mother-in-law, an unmarried sister-in-law, a niece and his wife’s cousin were charred to death. Many of their relatives living in Punjab have left for Brampton after receiving the news.
