Six people have gone missing from The Isha Foundation since 2016, the Madras High Court was informed on Thursday by the Tamil Nadu Police.
Jaggi Vasudev is the founder and head of the foundation.
The police, in its submission before a Bench of Justices MS Ramesh and Sunder Mohan, also said the cases of the missing persons were being probed and that some of them could have returned, legal news websites have reported.
The court was hearing a habeas corpus plea filed by a resident of Tirunlveli district named Thirumalai to trace his brother Ganesan, 46, who went missing from Isha Foundation, where he worked, in March 2023.
Thirumalai told the court that he had contacted the Isha Foundation to enquire about the whereabouts of his brother after failing to contact him, but was told that Ganesan had not reported for two days.
Thirumalai then filed a police complaint and moved the court.
The Bench directed the police to submit a status report on the probe by April 18, the next date of hearing.
