Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar today announced that Jharkhand has completed 65 per cent of its voter mapping with the previous Special Summary Revision (SIR) list, marking a significant step in the ongoing electoral verification exercise.
The CEO said that rural areas have shown even better progress, in comparison with urban areas, with nearly 70 per cent of voters already mapped.
The CEO appealed to people living in urban areas to verify their names in the earlier SIR list and assist the administration in completing the work on time.
To make the process easier, a tutorial video has been released, guiding voters on how to search for their details through the Election Commission of India’s website or their respective State CEO portals.
Kumar also explained that voters who moved to Jharkhand from other states after the last SIR, or individuals facing difficulties in locating their names, can use the national voter portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in/.
Residents of Jharkhand may also check their own or their relatives’ information on the State CEO website at https://ceo.jharkhand.gov.in/.
For those unable to find their records in the old SIR list, the 1950 voter helpline remains available, offering direct assistance through the helpdesk manager.
Emphasising the advantages of completing ancestral mapping in advance, the CEO said that a higher number of mapped voters will minimise documentation requirements during the next SIR, making the entire process smoother and quicker.
He instructed field officials to ensure that no eligible voter is left out during the upcoming revision.
