As many as seven personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in a road accident in the Dagpora area of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
The accident took place at Umar Hair, Dagpora Road in Ahmad Nagar when the driver of a bulletproof bunker vehicle lost control, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and plunge into a water canal.
They said the injured personnel were quickly rushed to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for medical treatment.
The injured personnel have been identified as Neeraj Kumar (45), Rajdhan (55), Amit Kumar Yadav (38), Mankar Kumar (40), Naginder Singh (36), Ajit Kumar Ram (36), and Raj Kishore Rai (40).
Officials added that all the injured personnel are stated to be in stable condition, though a few have sustained multiple injuries.
In a separate accident, at least three police constables were among five persons injured in a road accident at BaghiMehtab, Srinagar.
Officials later said that a police Rakshak vehicle collided with a carrier on Friday night, resulting in injuries to five people.
They said that all the injured were quickly transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
