A devastating fire engulfed a locality in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar early today, claiming the lives of seven individuals, including three women, two men, and two children.

The blaze, which broke out in a tailoring shop at approximately 4 am, sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, leaving residents in a state of panic.

Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency call and raced to the scene to battle the flames. Despite their efforts to douse the fire, tragically, seven lives were lost before the inferno could be brought under control.

Manoj Lohiya, the Police Commissioner of Sambhaji Nagar, disclosed that the fire originated in the Alam Tailors shop, triggering widespread devastation. While the fire did not extend to the residential areas on the upper floors of the building, authorities suspect that the victims might have succumbed to smoke inhalation.

As the community struggles with the shock caused by the incident, authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.

 Post-mortem examinations have been scheduled for the victims to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to their demise.
