Eight lives were tragically lost when a vehicle carrying 13 passengers met with an accident near the Suni bridge in Muwani town, located in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, according to the police.
Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav confirmed the incident, saying, “"Eight people died after a vehicle carrying 13 people crashed near the Suni bridge in Muwani town. The police officials have reached the spot and rescue operations are underway.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief over the incident and offered his condolences to the grieving families. He has instructed the district administration and relief teams to carry out the rescue operations swiftly. The Chief Minister also directed that the injured receive timely and free medical care, the CMO said in a statement.
