Delhi Police were informed and fire teams and bomb disposal squads were immediately deployed.

Nine schools across Delhi received Bomb threat calls, which triggered emergency responses on Monday. This is the latest in a spate of similar incidents that have repeatedly disrupted educational institutions in major Indian cities.

Renowned schools in several districts received the threats between 8.30 am and 9.00 am. Delhi Police were informed and fire teams and bomb disposal squads were immediately deployed.

Reportedly, more schools received similar threats. The email, which carried disturbing and provocative messages, claimed, "Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru."

Police said students and staff have been evacuated from the premises. Investigation is currently underway.

The email, further, claimed that a blast would take place in Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 pm.

This comes amid a surge in hoax bomb threats, causing widespread alarm among parents and school administrators.

Five schools, earlier, in the national capital received bomb threats via email on the morning of January 29. Those threats were later declared hoaxes after sweeping searches by security agencies.

Schools targeted in that incident included Loreto Convent in Delhi Cantonment, Don Bosco School in Chittaranjan Park, and Carmel Convent campuses in Anand Niketan and Dwarka.

A day before that, on January 28, the Dwarka court complex also received a bomb threat that was subsequently found to be false.

Delhi Police had said investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the repeated threats, warning those responsible for hoaxes would face strict action.
